I'd never seen this before until the other day. It's so beautiful. Like tall purple baby's breath.

Before and After, Bird Cage Tin Art

I was very excited by this piece originally. It was the roof of the bird cage that was turning me on like it should. But over time of living with it, the piece felt sad to me, the colors on top and the bottom were wrong and it just didn't feel right.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Then these sweet tin birds presented themselves and the piece seemed to come together in a happier fashion. I do believe no birds should be caged.

This was a blast to make. It took me about 9 hours. The shelf is part of an aluminum strainer, it was easy to work with but coming up with the skirt took some doing. I tried 3 different things before figuring this out. This was supposed to be a slam dunk, but I was enjoying the process so much I couldn't stop working on it.
