An older woman at work was showing me photographs of herself when she was younger.Of one of the more glamorous snapshots, she said, "There's the obituary photo right there". Interesting thought. The photographs in the newspapers always show the deceased happy with big smiles on their faces. Well, let me tell you right now, if I am dead, I most certainly will not be happy about it. So this is the photo I want for my obit.
Good thing we don't need to see this one anytime soon!
Hugs Jenny!

now all I can think of is blog posts about how we want our obits to be (and since I read the obits every morning --- the Olympian is a very thin paper, I really have opinions about this)
ahahahahahahahahah, wow, you are crazy (in a good way <3)

""poor SPF, age 102,
was climbing
the Eiffel Tower
with aging-but-still-handsome movie-star RDJr.
when she died
of an apparent over-dose of rich, dark chocolate.
Some say her last words were:
'Oh happy day!
I never missed a thing!'
RDJr. refused to comment
but swore he would never
travel to Paris again.
Her ashes will be scattered
at her villa near Lucca.""
Photo will show me--wrinkled and smiling
--with chocolate stick stuck
in my own naturally implanted teeth.

perfect. as a dedicated obit. reader, i agree. and it shouldn't be a photo from when you were 25, unless you are 25 when you die. it is total misrepresentation. and you have to make them say how you died.
