When I was a little kid, one of the things I did to pass the time was to roam through the open fields near our house and look for ladybugs. I would collect them from the tall grass and put them on my head to crawl around in my hair. Then when I got home my mother would stand with me at the kitchen door and pick them out. I don't know why I did this or why it never seemed to bother my mother.
This is a photograph of my friend Ruthie and her dog, Carlos. Carlos was sitting on her lap and just happened to look up at the exact moment I took the picture. I couldn't have staged this to be this good.
