I received an email via my website from a customer who left out one letter from their name on their email address. When I responded to them it automatically bounced back. So I went to my website control panel and found an IP number from the sender. I didn't know what an IP number was so I Googled it and discovered I was able to input the IP number and find out where the email had originated from. Des Moines, Iowa. Then I Googled the person's name and Google corrected it for me, so then I Googled their name and Des Moines, Iowa and found there was one person with that name living there. I resent the email and the customer responded by buying the artwork through my Etsy shop. When I asked her how she found my website she said she had been in Seattle last April and saw my work at a coffee shop and kept my card. How very cool is that?

These decorations are some kind of woven plastic as far as I could tell. The first time I saw them, the sun was hitting them from behind and they were glowing with happiness.

Obituary Photo

Why me?

An older woman at work was showing me photographs of herself when she was younger.Of one of the more glamorous snapshots, she said, "There's the obituary photo right there". Interesting thought. The photographs in the newspapers always show the deceased happy with big smiles on their faces. Well, let me tell you right now, if I am dead, I most certainly will not be happy about it. So this is the photo I want for my obit.

Weird Cat Behavior

 

We're not sure, but maybe our cat has dementia. He acts like there is something under the stove, or dishwasher, between the book selves, behind the toilet... he's never done this before in all the 14 years he's been part of the family. Anyone else have cats that do this? It's kinda creepy. Image is for illustrative purposes only.

10 More Days to Spring

 

Even though it's 32 degrees, signs of Spring are popping up everywhere. While signs of Spring cleaning are not.

 

So much to do and so little time. I think a white rabbit said something like that.

The Eye Doctor

 

I went to the eye doctor today.I need to get glasses.

 

 

I hate going there. The doctor is fine but everything else is creepy. The eye drops and all the weird equipment. (Shudder) Thank goodness I don't have to go back for another year.

It Was a Sign!

 

On the way home from the eye doctor I was stopped by a train. I noticed this sign and realized that going to the eye doctor wasn't all that bad. Double click on the photograph to see it enlarged.

This is what happened in our reasonably quiet residential neighborhood this morning.

 

Luckily no one was seriously injured.

There's a War Going On....

 

and it's happening in the streets. It's a war between pedestrians and motorists. Both seem to be playing a dangerous game of chance. As a professional driver I am in the trenches daily. Pedestrians dart off the curb from between parked cars in the middle of the block, or step into a crosswalk without looking for traffic first. Cell phone toting motorists zoom through intersections like it's a video game and hitting someone would score them some points. So the message from here is slow down, hang up the cell phone and look both ways.
