We're not sure, but maybe our cat has dementia. He acts like there is something under the stove, or dishwasher, between the book selves, behind the toilet... he's never done this before in all the 14 years he's been part of the family. Anyone else have cats that do this? It's kinda creepy. Image is for illustrative purposes only.
Even though it's 32 degrees, signs of Spring are popping up everywhere. While signs of Spring cleaning are not.
So much to do and so little time. I think a white rabbit said something like that.
I went to the eye doctor today.I need to get glasses.
I hate going there. The doctor is fine but everything else is creepy. The eye drops and all the weird equipment. (Shudder) Thank goodness I don't have to go back for another year.
On the way home from the eye doctor I was stopped by a train. I noticed this sign and realized that going to the eye doctor wasn't all that bad. Double click on the photograph to see it enlarged.
This is what happened in our reasonably quiet residential neighborhood this morning.
Luckily no one was seriously injured.
and it's happening in the streets. It's a war between pedestrians and motorists. Both seem to be playing a dangerous game of chance. As a professional driver I am in the trenches daily. Pedestrians dart off the curb from between parked cars in the middle of the block, or step into a crosswalk without looking for traffic first. Cell phone toting motorists zoom through intersections like it's a video game and hitting someone would score them some points. So the message from here is slow down, hang up the cell phone and look both ways.

Redrum, redrum, redrum...
Snow for a day or two is fine, longer than that and I really don't like it. This started last Wednesday night and I have had enough of it. The worse part is that it dampens my creative drive that is usually at full throttle. Lots of time to work and no desire.
In my teens we lived in Mexico, my father managed a resort on the Sea of Cortez. One of the guests who stayed there was, the sculptor, Harold Paris. I remember him telling my mother that while being there he felt turned off artistically. So I am thinking that this snow is my Baja desert.
I spend a lot of my time with people who are in their 80's and 90's. I am pretty sure that the key to staying young is being curious, active, easygoing and positive. The curious part is number one, I think. We'll be driving down the street, and the people traveling with me have so many questions about everything they see out the window. What are they building there ? What kind of church is that ? Why are they tearing up the street ? I generally don't have any answers but when I do they are grateful. The sad thing is, that for myself, I find that I am not all that curious about things as they are.
