Look at this paint by number. Really look at it. It's been driving me nuts, and not just because of the weeks of snow we've had either. What do you see? In the next photograph of it , I have outlined what I see and can only see when I look at it.
For me, all I see is someone in agony. Now look at the first photo. Do you see it too?
Redrum, redrum, redrum...
Snow for a day or two is fine, longer than that and I really don't like it. This started last Wednesday night and I have had enough of it. The worse part is that it dampens my creative drive that is usually at full throttle. Lots of time to work and no desire.
In my teens we lived in Mexico, my father managed a resort on the Sea of Cortez. One of the guests who stayed there was, the sculptor, Harold Paris. I remember him telling my mother that while being there he felt turned off artistically. So I am thinking that this snow is my Baja desert.
I spend a lot of my time with people who are in their 80's and 90's. I am pretty sure that the key to staying young is being curious, active, easygoing and positive. The curious part is number one, I think. We'll be driving down the street, and the people traveling with me have so many questions about everything they see out the window. What are they building there ? What kind of church is that ? Why are they tearing up the street ? I generally don't have any answers but when I do they are grateful. The sad thing is, that for myself, I find that I am not all that curious about things as they are.
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair and be lookin' out for cool tea tins. Both Nia and Kerrie H. have either mentioned or showed me fabulous tins from the City by the Bay.
So I called my beloved Michael who lives down that way. Not even sure where to tell him to look, he was able to find these great tins for me in China Town. He didn't say a word, they just arrived.
Some Pink Flowers had sent me a lid from a tin that she had been saving for years. It was the same brand as these. I can hardly wait to start cutting them up.
